The opposition staged another walkout from the National Assembly on Wednesday over the imposition of the additional GST on petroleum products.
Earlier, Leader of the Opposition Syed Khurshid Shah said that the government should have taken the Parliament into confidence and got its approval before imposing the additional GST on petroleum products.
Federal Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said he would convey the concerns of the opposition to the concerned minister and the prime minister and respond to the queries of the opposition on the matter today. He said that the Parliament has a central place in terms of Pakistan’s parliamentary democracy, and the government cannot think to bypass it.
