Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader Asad Umar has accused the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) of demanding extortion from his brother, Privatisation Commission Chairman Zubair Umar three years ago.

Talking on a TV talk show on Wednesday, Asad Umar accused MQM of demanding “protection money” from his brother Zubair, who is currently a close aide of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Zubair Umar also confirmed having received the ‘Bhatta Parchi’ – a note usually sent to someone to pay extortion. He said that he had received the note three years ago in Karachi and was threatened of dire consequences in case of non-payment.

However, the chairman of the Privatisation Commission declined to name the party.

  1. These tall tales are straining credulity to breaking point. No "dire consequences" from the supposed "target killing team"? Poor innocent Privatisation Commission Chairman, close friend of NS. Someone pass me a bucket. And a shroud for Pakistani justice and accountability.
