Teenager shoots dead class fellow, takes selfie with body

PENNSYLVANIA-

A teenager has been charged with murder in the US for allegedly shooting a school fellow in the face before posing with his body in a Snapchat selfie, reports The Independent.

The 16-year-old accused murdered the victim Ryan Mangan, 16, at his home in Pennsylvania’s city of Jeannette last week.

The boy was arrested after the police received a copy of the photo the accused had sent to another boy through Snapchat; a phone app that automatically deletes messages within seconds  unless they are saved.

Mother of the boy who received the Snapchat message contacted the police with the copy of the photo.  She says that her son also received text messages saying  “I told you I cleaned up the shells” and “Ryan was not the last one”.

“(Police) received a copy of the photo which depicted the victim sitting in the chair with a gunshot wound to the face,” said an affidavit seen by the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. “It also depicts a  male taking the ‘selfie,’ with his face facing the camera and the victim behind.”

The accused has been charged with first-degree murder, homicide and possession of a firearm by a minor.
