ISLAMABAD.

Former Governor Punjab Chaudhary Sarwar officially announced his joining in PTI on Tuesday at a Press Conference Ceremony at the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad.

“At the time when there is a lot of corruption in the country, we are very fortunate that we have a leader like Imran Khan who talks about change,” he said.

Sarwar resigned from his post on January 29th, over statements made about Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif regarding the PM’s foreign policy. Sarwar censured the Foreign Office on the basis of President Barack Obama visiting India and not Pakistan, and deemed it as a ‘failure’ of the country’s foreign policy.

Following former PTI president Javed Hashmi’s resignation, PTI and Pakistan Peoples Party’s senior leadership offered Sarwar an invitation to join their respective parties, according to sources.

Chaudhary Sarwar has further claimed that he does not compromise on corruption, and believes that Imran Khan has the same ideals as him. “The struggle is not to gain premiership but to fight the status quo,” Sarwar concluded.

  1. Well the PTI is fast becoming top heavy. Soon it will be full of chiefs and no indians. It is amazing that Mr.Sarwar did not know that PML(N) was a family dominated party. His argument that he jumped the ship because of foreign policy failure is disingeious to say the least. Let us see how long the honeymoon with the present party lasts. Now that Imran has got everybody on board let us walk the walk. Destiny beckens!

  2. What was he thinking when he took up offer from NS to be Punjab governor? According to him, he wanted to bring some positive changes, if that was the case then he knows fully well being a governor is not the way to go about it. Governor is a fairly useless post – a colonial era ceremonial post appointed by and representing the President, not the PM.

  3. Entry of political paratroopers and occupying the important positions in party is meant to usurp the rights of poor political workers who have been struggling for a long time. The ordinary and ideological members should realize that they are meant only for shouting slogans and setting the chairs for their affluent leaders. PTI is gathering the deserted and regurgitated stuff of other political parties. Alas PTI is going too fast to the dust bin of history without achieving anything. My sympathies are with the poor party workers whose dreams will be gone sour day by day.

    • Agree! Soon the PTI will become a party of the elitist. The poor will be entertained to a illusion while the elitist will fight amongst themselves. I would like to know how many party members on the top are from the grassroots. Imran did arouse passion amongst the poor but it is pettering out. Tsunami has become a gentle breeze.
