Senate chairman leaves for Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia

Chairman Senate and President of Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari left Islamabad for Philippines on Sunday. He is on a six-day visit to the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia, accompanied by Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Senator Jahangir Bader and Senator Saifullah Magsi.

Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari will meet Speaker of Philippines Assembly in Philippines, President of Indonesian Senate in Jakarta and President of Malaysian Parliament in Kuala Lumpur. During his visit, he will also meet senior office holders from the parliaments in the three countries.

Chairman Senate in his meetings will discuss ways to further strengthen APA. He will focus on what the countries can learn from each other’s experiences. More visits by Parliamentary delegations are needed to counter mutual issues faced by Asian countries and improve trade between APA countries.
