Pakistan showcases sports goods at ISPO 2015

Around 120 sports goods manufacturers, exporters and exhibitors all hailing from the world famous city for its quality products of sports goods, Sialkot participated in one of the world’s largest trade fairs of sports goods and equipment, ISPO 2015 in Munich. The four-day event that concluded on Saturday attracted about 8000 plus trade visitors from 109 countries besides a large number of the end users of the outdoor and indoor sports products and the general public.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) extended support to 29 exhibitors from Sialkot under its policy to encourage the new entrants. It also established site office with the support of the commercial section of the embassy and the consulate general, Frankfurt, to assist the exhibitors in their business activities.

Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Asif, who also hails from Sialkot, along with Ambassador Syed Hasan Javed visited the Pakistan Pavilion and met with the exhibitors. He went to each stall and exchanged views with them about their products and marketing strategies. He said research and development with innovative ideas was a key to success in the present fast growing and trendy age. He urged the Pakistani manufacturers and exporters of sports goods to spend a reasonable portion of their income on R & D which ultimately would keep them in the competition and help expand their business activities.

The exhibitors showcased top quality sports goods including clothing for martial art, footballs, boxing gears, a large range of gloves, cycling and roller skating equipment. Street/casual wears were also put on display by a number of stall holders. The exhibitors were optimistic about enhancement of their business activities in near future as the response of the market was quite encouraging and they received a lot of inquiries about their products.

Pakistan pavilion was one of the largest single country stands in the fair besides Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, and the host country, Germany. More than 2,560 international exhibitors presented their latest products from the segments of outdoor, ski, action, performance sports, textrends, health and fitness.
