Taking strict notice of violation of ban on kite flying which resulted in an injury to a girl due to stray string in Sheikhupura, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered the inspector general of police (IGP) to immediately suspend DSPs and SHOs of Lahore and Sheikhupura where incidents of kite flying took place and a submit a report.
He was addressing a meeting regarding implementation on law of kite flying through video-link at the Civil Secretariat on Saturday.
The IGP, secretary home, commissioner Lahore division, RPO, DPO and DCO Sheikhupura attended the meeting.
The chief minister expressed strong indignation over some incidents of kite flying and ordered indiscriminate action against violators. He said that such incidents were not tolerable before nor will be in future. He warned that in case of complaint of kite flying, action will be taken against the police officers of those areas. He directed that strict implementation on the law of ban on kite flying should be ensured. He said that police and administration should discharge their duties efficiently for ensuring implementation of law. He said that action should also be taken against those dealing in kites and kite string and police and administration should keep a vigilant eye on kite flying.
