Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled an attempt to smuggle 2kg heroin by seizing two passengers at Benazir International Airport, Islamabad, whereas airport police also detained an Executive Control (ECL) listed suspect on his return from Qatar.
As per details, passenger Khaista Rehman was about to fly to Bahrain when the ASF discovered 2kg of heroin and handed her over to Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for interrogation.
Meanwhile, ASF apprehended another suspect, identified as Qaisar Iqbal, for hiding 25 capsules of heroin in his stomach. The suspect was scheduled to fly to Barcelona.
Meanwhile, a passenger was arrested at the Islamabad airport after it was discovered that his name was included in Exit Control List (ECL) on Saturday.
According to sources, the passenger, Muhammad Akram, flew to Islamabad from Qatar through a private airline. Sources said that passenger was wanted in a murder case. The accused has been handed over to FIA cell, they added.
