ISLAMABAD-
Addressing a National Assembly session on Friday, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that security agencies are close to finding the mastermind of the Shikarpur bombing attack.
At least 62 men were killed and more than 50 were injured in a blast targeting a Friday congregation at a Shiite mosque in Lakhidar Chowk of Shikarpur last week.
The minister said that the masterminds have been identified to a ‘great extent’, but did not elaborate his statement.
He said that the head and foot of the suicide bomber were also recovered from the blast site.
He rejected claims that the federal government was oblivious to the aggrieved families, adding that the federal authorities were in close contact with the Sindh government in this regard.
Nisar further said that Pakistan and Afghanistan are working closely to capture those behind the Peshawar school attack on December 16.
He said that the nation, as well as the political and military leadership were on the same page in the fight against terrorism.
