Says he is certain after seeing forensic reports from NA-122 that Ayaz Sadiq will not be able to maintain his seat
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said Wednesday that he would challenge the appointment of Gilgit-Baltistan caretaker chief minister in Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC).
Speaking at a press conference at Bani Gala, Khan alleged that arrangements have been made for rigging during Gilgit-Baltistan’s council elections, which is why a PML-N member has been given the position. He claimed that Nawaz Sharif has appointed his “own umpires to get desirable results”.
The PTI chairman held returning officers (ROs) responsible for poll rigging in the general elections that took place in 2013, adding that he was aware of how the polls were rigged. He alleged that, “the real game was played by ROs.”
Imran Khan said that all the evidence to prove that rigging had taken place during the general elections had been collection. A decision will now be made through the election tribunals.
He said that he was certain that after seeing forensic reports from NA-122 that it was impossible for National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq Speaker to maintain his seat, adding that it will be cleared after ET decisions.
Khan said he used to think Pakistan People’s Party was the most incompetent party, but PML-N has proved him wrong.
The PTI chief said that a report of the audit in NA-122 has been prepared, which is enough to remove Ayaz Sadiq as speaker of the National Assembly. “I am certain Ayaz Sadiq cannot remain as the NA speaker anymore,” Imran said.
Regarding the ET’s report in NA-118, the PTI chief said that out of 170,000 votes, 119,000 votes were bogus. He said that it was better to not organise elections if they were going to be rigged on such a scale.
