CDA goes strict on illegally installed signboards

On the directives of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Member Administration and Estate, Amir Ali Ahmed, the Directorate of Municipal Administration has carried out grand operation against illegally installed signboards in the city.

The special teams, constituted by the Municipal Administration director took action against illegally signboards in different sectors of the city and removed 70 advertisement and signboards.

The signboards were removed from Park Road, Centaurus complex and Sector E-11, said a press release on Thursday.

The Directorate of Municipal along with CDA magistrate and Islamabad Police will also launch an operation against the signboards installed on the rooftop of the buildings in the federal capital.

In first phase, signboards installed on the buildings at Kashmir Highway and Sector F-11 will be removed. The operation would further be extended to other sectors.

Member Administration and Estate Amer Ali Ahmed has directed the concerned formations of the authority to take action against the signboards in light of the Advertisement Rules 1977 within the capital limits. He said that the operation against the illegally installed signboards would continue without any discrimination.

He asked the concerned formations of the authority to ensure effective monitoring of the areas so that the signboards could not be installed again. He said that due to effective monitoring of the areas, installation of illegal signboards can be controlled.
