Bomb defused, four militants killed in Bannu

The security personnel managed to defuse a bomb found outside a school in Bannu and separately managed to hunt down four militants in the area on Wednesday.

A bid to blow up a government school in Bannu was foiled by the bomb disposal squad (BDS) after they defused explosives planted outside the school on Wednesday morning.

According to sources, police officials were informed about the explosives planted outside Badshah Khan Government Primary School, after which rescue personnel were dispatched to the area.

The security forces cordoned off the area until the explosives were defused and removed. Children were allowed to go inside the school once the area was cleared.

FOUR MILITANTS KILLED:

Meanwhile, at least four militants were killed on Wednesday in a clash between security forces and militants in Bannu’s Jani Khel area.

Official sources said that four militants were killed and one was injured during the crossfire.

Separately, law enforcement agencies arrested at least twenty militants in Kurram Agency and Hangu district.

Law enforcement personnel also seized huge quantity of arms and ammunition from the arrested militants’ possession.
