A nurse’s body was found from the city’s Sherakot area on Wednesday who police said was killed after being raped.
The nurse was employed at the Mayo Hospital and had gone missing after completing her work shift on January 31. Police said the nurse was abducted while she was on her way back to her residence.
Police said the accused took the body in an ambulance to a morgue but upon refusal from the authorities there, he dumped it and escaped. Police claim to have identified the culprit for whom a search is under way.
Sherakot Police Station has accepted an application filed by the victim’s family and said that a first information report (FIR) would soon be registered.
