Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources Monday said that petrol in sufficient quantity was available throughout the country including Punjab and the supply chain of petrol and its products were fully functional.
In a statement, it said that petrol was being supplied in excess of the demand at retail outlets and there were no chances of shortage in any part of the country. It said that it as well as Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) were monitoring the situation closely.
In view of the price reductions in petroleum products, it has already issued necessary instructions to all OMCs to top-up their respective depots and move the Premier Motor Gasoline (Petrol), High Speed Diesel and other petroleum products to entire country on war footing basis, the ministry’s statement said.
Further, instructions have also been issued to chief secretaries of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan , Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan to ensure smooth supplies of petroleum products at retail outlets in their territorial jurisdiction to avoid any kind of shortage, overcharging and discomfort to general public/consumer, the statement said.
