ISLAMABAD –
Six suspected militants belonging to banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were arrested Tuesday during raids in different areas of the federal capital.
The suspects were held during search operations in Islamabad’s Shehzad Town, Tarnol and Bara Kahu areas.
According to sources, arrested suspects belong to the TTP Mohmand Agency who were planning a terrorist attack in the city. They have been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.
Following December 16’s Taliban attack on Army Public School in Peshawar that claimed lives of more than 150 people, Pakistan stepped up its anti-terror strategy and arrested hundreds of militant suspects across the country under the newly-formulated National Action Plan.
