- Four soldiers killed in Kurram blast while two cops including an additional SHO killed in Karakoram Road explosion
At least four security men were killed in an explosion targeting a convoy of security forces in Warmagai area of Kurram tribal region while two policemen including an additional SHO were killed in an explosion near Lorry Adda located on Karakoram Road in Mansehra on Tuesday.
Following the blast in Kurram, security forces and militants clashed in Warmagai area which left a key Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander Gul along with his accomplice killed. The security forces’ vehicle was destroyed in the blast.
Security and rescue teams reached the blast site and shifted the victims to a nearby hospital. The blast site was cordoned off by security forces as a probe into the incident went under way.
Meanwhile in Mansehra, the explosion took place when a police van escorting a convoy of vehicles set off for Gilgit Baltistan, said Mansehra DPO Ijaz Khan.
Khan said City Police Station Additional SHO Fareed Khan was killed while three others injured. The injured were rushed to Ayub Medical Complex, Abbotabad where one of them succumbed to his injuries.
