At least 60 people were killed and more than a 100 people were injured when a suspected suicide bomber attacked Karbala-e-Moalla Imambargah in the Lakhidar area during Friday prayers.

While addressing the Sindh Assembly, Muslim League Functional leader Imtiaz Sheikh said that the Shikarpur incident was a national tragedy. The death toll had increased due to the absence of doctors in civil hospitals.

MQM parliamentary leader Syed Sardar Ahmed stated that the Shia community is now being targeted in Sindh after Balochistan. Such incidents should be taken seriously.

Sindh does not have its own intelligence agency and depends on federation. Security across the province should be tightened to avert such tragedies in the future, he added.
