The District Health Department Monday claimed to have achieved over 50 per cent measles vaccination target in the entire district under a two-week long drive launched in all tehsils and towns of Rawalpindi on January 26.
Executive District Officer (EDO) Health Dr Khalid Randahawa said that under the ongoing vigorous drive, 104,636 children have been administered the measles vaccine in Tehsil Gujar Khan, 37,086 in Tehsil Kahuta and 25,376 in Tehsil Kallar Syedan.
Similarly, 17,652 children were administered the vaccine in Tehsil Kotli Sattian, 35,121 in Tehsil Murree, 85,649 in Tehsil Taxila, 155,896 in rural areas of the city, 177,497 in cantonment and 123,231 in Rawalpindi city, while 1,386,934 the set target of the campaign would be achieved till February, 9.
