IHC disposes of SF petition against Islamabad police, others being withdrawn
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has disposed of petition filed by Shuhada Foundation (SF) against interior secretary, deputy commissioner and Islamabad Police IG for harassing its members by Islamabad Police on the issue of video massage issued by girls students of Jamia Hafsa in the name of Daesh.
A single bench of IHD comprising Chief Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kansi took up the petition for hearing Tuesday.
Tariq Asad counsel for spokesman of Shuhada Foundation Hafiz Ehtasham ul Haq appeared in the court and told that some time earlier reports on video messages by girls students of Jamia Hafsa in the name of Daesh ran in media and Islamabad Police started harassing members of Shuhada Foundation and prayer leader of Lal Masjid.
Islamabad deputy commissioner issued detention orders of Maulana Abdul Aziz. Upon it the petitioner filed petition in high court making interior secretary, Police IG, Islamabad DC and Aabpara Police SHO.
The counsel for the petitioner told the court that detention orders of Maulana Abdul Aziz issued by Islamabad deputy commissioner have been withdrawn and DC Islamabad has proceeded on leave for two months.
The court was told that police is not harassing Shuhada Foundation members and other people and due to which they want to withdraw the petition.
The court while accepting the plea disposed of the petition filed by Shuhada Foundation against interior secretary, deputy commissioner and IG Police and others.
