About 500 non-Muslims embraced Islam after witnessing a simple, swift funeral of Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al Saud, said International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) President Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh Monday during a condolence reference held for King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz at IIUI’s new campus.
The reference was attended by the IIUI Rector Dr Masoom Yasinzai, IIUI President Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, vice presidents, DGs, dean and directors.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Yasinzai paid tribute to the late Saudi King and said that IIUI stands with the Saudi nation in this moment of grief. “All the officers, employees and students of varsity pray for the eternal peace of departed soul,” said Dr Yasinzai.
He said that IIUI organised the funeral prayer in absentia for late Saudi King and condolence reference was also held earlier for King Abdullah while an IIUI delegation also went to the Saudi embassy in Islamabad and condoled Ambassador Jassim M Al-Khalidi.
The IIUI rector said that purpose of today’s reference is to convey the grief and pain of IIUI to the Saudi nation through IIUI president. He also hoped that in the rule of King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud, relations between Pakistani and Saudi universities would further strengthen.
He said that King Abdullah always advised his ministers and advisors to keep Pakistani nation near to their heart and provided cooperation to Pakistan in hard times.
Dr Al-Draiweesh maintained that everyone is equal in front of God and simple funeral of King Abdullah impressed many people while 500 non-Muslims embraced Islam after observing this simplicity which is the “core attribute” of Islam. He also prayed for King Salman Abdullah saying may Allah give him strength to serve Muslim Ummah as his ancestors did. He also hoped that King Salman would play vital role in bringing back the splendour of Muslim Ummah.
At the end, Dr Al-Draiweesh prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and the prosperity and peace of Ummah.
I am skeptical of this dubious statement. Why such a round number? We see no testimony from any of the "converts". What was it about a "simple" funeral service that caused them to want to abandon their existing belief system and take up Islam?
Until there's some hard evidence, I think this claim is suspect.
My dear friend! God bless you and your family. I am glad to see that God chose you to read his divine book and at least he gave you some wisdom to reach the truth. As you are aware a common man does not know much in details about the Quran and if you are confuse on any matter, please do not ask any one but only a good scholar, who know the language, and I will prefer if he is from Saudia, Egypt or any other Middle Easter countries, because their language is arabic, and most important thing is that if has graduated from a well recognized Islamic university in the Middle East. As God said in Quran, just believe in oneness of God, do good deeds , be honest, help poor if you can, and god will not waste your efforts. Our Lord we believe in what You have sent down, and we follow the Messenger (Jesus), so write us down among those who bear witness to the truth.
And remember when ALLAH (GOD) Said "O JESUS I will make you sleep and raise you to Myself and clear you of those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve. Then you will return to Me and I will judge between you in the matters in which you used to dispute.
Sat (O MUHAMMED) : " O people of scripture (jews and christian)! come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but ALLAH (GOD) alone, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as Lords besides Allah ( GOD), Then if they turn away, say: 'BEAR WITNESS THAT WE ARE MUSLIMS)
PROPHET MUHAMMED SAID ABOUT JESUS PEACE BE UPON HIM:
" I am the nearest of all the people to the son of Mary, and all the Prophets are paternal brothers, and there has been no Prophet between me and him (Jesus)

Specifically, if there's "No compulsion in religion", as the verse in Quran 2:256 implies, I'm wondering if you could square that with Quran 9:4-5. Thanks.

It is little hard for a person who is in America and Europe to understand Quran because they do do not the culture of that time in the middle east, the ground realities/context in which a particular orders were revealed by the Almighty God. All the instructions were revealed on the ground realities and circumstances. I therefore suggest you to read the explanation, we call this Quran Tafseer, which explain why a particular instructions were revealed. If you want to know , it is my firm believe that God will guide you. As Yousaf Estes, a christian church priest said that before I started reading the Quran, The first verse start with:
"I seek protection from God against the Devil"
"In the name of God,the Most Gracious,the Most Merciful"
and after that he said he was very calm and happy to read Quran, because, he already ask God to protect him from the Satan and any evil, in my mind or the the book itself.God ultimately helped him to understand QURAN as he said , and Now he is among big scholars of Islam. Just keep your heart and mind open and you will get all the answers, and you will note that Quran is not what people believe. This is a true divine book of God and this book can not be wrong and can not harm any body but this is guidance and blessing from God. It's rather a useless book then, isn't it? I mean, this is supposed to be, according to Islam, the Final Revelation of God. God, supposedly, had 2 other kicks at it, and didn't get it right, so a third (and final) one was needed. This is SUPPOSED to be a message to all mankind in all ages, correct? What use is it if it's "hard for a person …. to understand"? Can't an omniscient, omnipotent deity reveal a message that's easy for ANYONE to understand? Seems like it should be an easy thing to do for someone with unlimited power.
It does not clear my doubt at all, in fact, it confirms it. If Islam is a "Religion of peace", there should be no need for killing, wether someone has broken a treaty or not. It does not say to DEFEND yourselfs against the polytheists, it says to "slay them where you find them".
Islam will solitary stand against western nihilism that have successfully conquered all other religions and ways of life. It therefore in no need for lies, "truth stands clear against falsehood!"

Faith is a state of the mind, mark that in 16:106 says, while his heart is secure in faith and 40:28 says, who concealed his faith. The consciousness of God is for God alone, not utterance, not label, it is a transcendence between a being and God not for a ware to be displayed for Pharaoh or George Bush. Part of prophethood, apart from teaching religion, is the teaching of existential ways (techniques) to live. Religion and Wisdom go together, if you remove one it will be utter ruination! The zio-western merchants of terror, Al-qaida, ISIL, Al-Nusra, Boko Haram are good examples of religion without wisdom!
Would not "concealing your faith" be a lie?
God many places in quran that I made this quran easy to understand an ordinary person, and I revealed this book in your language so that you can understand. I mean a person in USA does not know where is Mecca and where is Madina, what is the distance and what is the history of that area. What is tradition on those days before Islam and what changes Quran brought in their lives and how it changed their lives.
If you have read the whole Quran, I think you will understand me, but this is not up to me to make you understand. Guidance is in the hand of Almighty. GOD is challenging in the holy book quran, that if the quran is not from the God, than there are two things, either you bring a chapter like this, a pharase like this or find any discrepancy in the whole book. But, After reading the Holy Quran, if you feel that you are not convinced, than it is up to you. I am convinced that the HOLY QURAN is the word of God and it teaches us love and respect for the fellow human being.I am grateful to my God for showing me the right path

I'm not convinced, with either the Quran, or the claim of the article, which I originally objected to, that 500 people converted to Islam. I notice, throughout this entire thread, although people are MORE than happy to quote Quranic passages at me, NOBODY has mannaged to point to any proof or testemony of these supposed 500 converts. That speaks more volumes than anything.
It is not important at all about this statement, if someone became muslim after seeing the funeral. So what? It will not make any difference to any one in this world, since there are already approximately 1.5 billion muslim around this world. Do not be upset with such statements. Go to you tube, and you will see a lot of people are broadcasting false videos. Do not bother on such statement. I do not believe such statement, unless there is valid proof. If we follow such news than we will waste our time whole day looking authenticity. Unless such videos, news are directly affecting any one. It will not make any difference even they say 500,00 people instead of 500. Main thing is we need good people who care their family, their neighbor,their fellow citizens and they have good conscience too.
