In the backdrop of terrorists attack at an imambargah in Shikarpur which claimed more than 60 lives, a day of mourning was observed across the country and protests were held in all major cities of Pakistan.
Addressing a high level meeting of Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Fiqah Jafariya (TNF), Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi said that the National Action Plan (NAP) is appreciable; however, its implementation is still pending.
“The tragic incident of Shikarpur is the result of the liberty given to banned organisations. In order to act upon the action plan, faith, conviction, and courage is required. Instead of wasting time on developing a new force, authorities must be delegated to army and rangers.”
A complete shutdown was observed for the third consecutive day Sunday in Shikarpur as soyam held for those martyred in suicide blast in the town.
Meanwhile, a suspect was arrested while trying to enter the Imambargah Karbala Mualla on the occasion of soyam. The detainee was being interrogated.
SINDHI STUDENTS PROTEST:
Meanwhile, a large number of Sindhi students from various universities in Islamabad held protests against the suicide attack on Shikarpur Imambarghah on Sunday.
In the protest, a large number of civil society members, media persons and common citizens also participated. They condemned the inhuman terrorist attack and rejected the extremist mindset of militant organizations.
RALLY IN SKARDU:
Another rally took place in Skardu where prominent clerics protested against the terrorist act in Shikarpur.
The rally terminated at Yadghar Chowk Skardu where speakers, while addressing the gathering, strongly condemned terrorism in the country and especially in Shikarpur, Sindh.
They demanded the concerned authorities to arrest the culprits. The speakers also assured full support to the Pakistan Army for the success of Zarb-e-Azb, which will help make the country peaceful.
Similar rallies were organised in Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi and other metropolitan cities.
