Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah formed a judicial commission on Saturday to probe the murder cases of Muttahida Quami Movement’s workers Sohail Ahmad and Faraz Alam.

According to the sources, the judicial commission will be headed by Justice (re) Ghulam Sawar. The commission will submit its final report on the assassinations of Sohail Ahmad and Faraz Alam within 10 days.

Earlier, in a statement issued from London Secretariat, Altaf Hussain had said the police personnel arrested Sohail Ahmed, in-charge of unit 64 of Society Sector, on December 15, 2014. He said the Sindh High Court chief justice and the chief minister including others were informed regarding his illegal and arbitrary arrest.

“Despite all such efforts, the police dumped his tortured body in Moach Goth area after killing him extra-judicially,” Altaf Hussain said. The MQM chief said no murderer including those of Sohail Ahmed were arrested yet, adding he and his party so far showed patience but there should be some limit for everything. He said the MQM would react on every single abuse and violence against it, and culprits had to bear the consequences.

Moreover, Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif arrived in Karachi on Friday and chaired a high-level meeting at the Governor’s House to overcome the tension between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and MQM.

Giving his remarks on the ongoing standoff between the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), PM Nawaz Sharif said that harmony between the two parties was vital for Karachi’s betterment. All the issues should be resolved at the provincial level, he added.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also met family of murdered MQM workers Sohail Ahmad, Fraz Alam and Rehan at the Governor’s House where MQM members including Qamar Mansoor, Babar Ghauri, Farooq Sattar and Haider Abbas Raza were also present.
