KARACHI-
Bodies of five infants were recovered from a garbage heap within the premise of Member National Assembly Abdul Sattar Bachani’s petrol pump in the Tando Allah Yar area of Hyderabad on Saturday, private media reported.
Residents of the area informed police and Civil Hospital Hyderabad officials soon after the bodies of two newborns and three premature infants were recovered.
Police reached the site and took the bodies into custody, which were later shifted to Civil Hospital.
The air of panic prevailed the area and residents demanded the arrest of those involved in the heinous crime.
According to Pakistani law, anyone found to have abandoned an infant can be jailed for seven years, while anyone guilty of secretly burying a child can be imprisoned for two years. Murder is punishable with life imprisonment.
