The Election Tribunal on Saturday dismissed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s plea to re-inquire rigging in NA-122.
Earlier Saturday, the tribunal had reserved its decision over Khan’s plea to inquire NA-122 once again.
The ET Judge Kazim Malik heard the case proceedings.
In the petition forwarded by Khan, it has been stated that local commission neither conducted the audit adequately nor brought the facts pertaining to rigging to light. The tribunal should therefore order to conduct the enquiry yet again.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s lawyer argued that the objections were baseless. He accused Khan of pointing accusations at local commission’s Ghulam Hussain Awan in fear of losing the case.
The court reserved its judgment after hearing out the arguments and summoned NA speaker to record his statement on February 7.
