- Finance minister says issue over formation of judicial commission can be resolved in 10 minutes if Reham Khan convinces Imran Khan
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has advised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s newlywed Reham Khan to play her role in convincing Khan to conciliate with the government over the formation of judicial commission.
“If ‘Bhabhi’ succeeds in convincing Imran Khan over formation of the judicial commission, the issue can be resolved within ten minutes,” Dar said while addressing a press conference on Saturday.
Dar rejected Khan’s claim about government earning Rs 300 billion from petrol. He requested Khan to avoid doing politics on Pakistan’s economy.
The minister said that the word ‘conspiracy’ or ‘by design’ will have to be used for forming judicial commission and the premier was ready to issue an ordinance for the formation of judicial commission if one of the two words were added.
“If Reham Khan can convince Imran on two other matters, I would request her to convince him on adding the words ‘conspiracy’ and ‘by design’ as well,” Dar said.
He added that formation of the judicial commission would be quick through an ordinance while getting a bill passed from assembly in this regard may take up to six months.
Dar said that the government was ready to accept Opposition Leader Syed Khurshid Shah as mediator or neutral umpire but the PTI had not yet given a green signal to his name.
Moreover, he suggested forming a national action plan for economy on the lines of National Action Plan formed for countering terrorism.
