Two women injured as India continues unprovoked firing at Sialkot

Two women, Salma Bibi and Nasreen Pervaiz, were injured seriously while several cattle were killed and dozens of houses damaged due to unprovoked intensified mortar shelling by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) overnight on border villages along the Working Boundary.

Reportedly, Salma Bibi, 20, and Nasreen Pervaiz, 26, were at their homes in Akhnoor village when some mortar shells fired by the Indian BSF hit their houses and seriously injured them. Both of the injured women were admitted at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in critical condition.

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) continued unprovoked mortar shelling on border villages including Charwah, Joyiaan, Harpal, Anula, Akhnoor, Ruraki Awanaan, Mairajkey, Kotli Khawaja, Dhamaala, Bajra Garhi, Umeraanwali, Thathi Meendarwal, Rangor, Bhagiyaari and surroundings in Bajra Garhi, Harpal, Umeraanwali, Mairajkey and Charwah sectors of Sialkot Working Boundary, almost the entire night between Thursday and Friday.

The Chenab Rangers retaliated in a befitting manner and silenced the Indian guns, senior Rangers officials added.
