Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday arrived in Karachi at the Governor House, private media reported.
He was greeted by Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, DG Rangers, IG Sindh, and other top officials.
He was accompanied by Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
The PM, while chairing a high-level meeting, said that both the Governor and CM Sindh should maintain harmony between their two respective parties and that all issues should be resolved at the provincial level, adding that all provincial matters should be discussed and resolved through dialogue.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also met a four-member delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) at the Governor House which included MQM leaders Farooq Sattar, Babar Ghauri, Haider Abbas Rizvi and Qamar Mansoor.
The premier assured MQM delegation that all of their concerned issues will be addressed. He also met with the heirs of the MQM workers killed in what the party claims were’ extra judicial killings.’
Nawaz Sharif issued directives for the formation of a judicial commission within a week’s time to probe into the killing of MQM worker Sohail Ahmed.
“Justice must be served…without justice, no society can survive and whoever is responsible for these killings must to be brought to justice,” he said.
The CM Sindh also briefed the PM regarding progress on the implementation of the National Action Plan(NAP) as well as establishment of special courts.
Talking about the implementation of NAP, the primer said “It does not belong to one party alone or to the government, it belongs to us all; all of us have signed the document.”
Later on, Sharif visited the Karachi Stock Exchange accompanied by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
While appreciating the improved performance of the stock exchange, the PM said “Pakistan’s economy is heading towards success.”
