The total power shortfall in the country on Friday reached to 2,950 megawatts

According to an NTDC spokesperson in Lahore, the total power production is 9,550 megawatts while the total current demand is 12,500 megawatts.

He said that out of the total production, 6220 megawatts are being produced by IPPs, 1450 megawatts by thermal units while 1880 megawatts are generated through hydel resources.

He said that the outflow from Tarbela and Mangla Dams is minimal due to the suspension of flow to canals; power generation will increase when the flow is restored.
