The Judicial Commission on the matter of the appointment of superior court judges on Wednesday recommended that Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Maqbool Baqer be elevated to the status of a Supreme Court judge, while Justice Faisal Arab should be elevated to SHC CJ.
The Judicial Commission, which met here with CJ of Pakistan Nasirul Mulk as the Chair, deliberated on the appointment of the judges for the superior judiciary.
The commission also recommended Justice (r) Riaz Ahmed Kayani for the post of Federal Shariat Court CJ.
It is pertinent to mention that the recommendations of Judicial Commission, if approved by the Parliamentary Committee, will be sent to the president for approval.
