The water and power ministry Wednesday chalked out an emergency plan to reduce electricity load shedding and to cope with any possible sabotage in the country, sources said.

According to the sources, the plan was devised on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Major reforms would be carried out in the water and power ministry under emergency plans while reshuffling would also take place in the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC).

A performance report of power distribution companies (Discos) would be dispatched to the prime minister on daily basis, the sources quoted the emergency plan. The sources said the prime minister expressed disappointment over performance of NTDC. He was displeased over increase in line losses, they added.
