While chairing a meeting at Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters to review progress of ongoing construction work at parking plazas in Markaz F-7, CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal said construction of parking plazas in the federal capital is the dire need of the time and CDA is taking concrete measures for construction of parking plazas cope with the fast growing parking issue in the city.
On this occasion, Member Engineering Shahid Sohail, Parking Plaza project director and concerned officers of Engineering Wing were also present.
CDA Chairman Maroof Fazal was apprised that construction work on parking plazas is on full swing. He was informed that 65 percent construction work of parking plaza situated on the Southern side of Markaz F-7 has been completed while construction work on parking plaza on Northern side of Markaz F-7 has started.
CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal expressed his satisfaction over the ongoing construction work on parking plazas and directed the Project Director to ensure supervision of construction work personally and submit the daily progress report about the work. He directed to focus on quality and standard during the ongoing construction work at parking plazas as per design. He directed to ensure completion of the project within stipulated time so that the commuters could be facilitated.
The CDA chairman said that due to rapid growth in population and increase in economic activities, Islamabad is expanding at faster pace, adding that construction of parking plazas in the city is the dire need of the hour cope with the parking problems. He said that CDA is taking effective measures to address the parking issues on priority. Initially, CDA has commenced construction work on two parking plazas in Markaz F-7, CDA chairman added. He said that such parking plazas would also be constructed in other prominent trade centres of the Federal Capital to settle the parking problems.
