Three policemen among five killed in Hyderabad, Karachi road accidents

At least five persons including three police personnel were killed while two others sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Hyderabad and Karachi on Monday.

According to police sources, three police personnel were killed and two others sustained injuries when a police mobile overturned on the Super Highway. The accident took place after a tyre on the police mobile burst due to over-speeding, killing three policemen and injuring two others.

The police vehicle was part of the squad of Senior Superintendent of Police Ghotki, and was heading to Karachi.

The bodies and the injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad. The deceased policemen were identified as Yar Mohammad, Raaz Gul, and Basharat.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed and two others injured as a speeding car mounted a footpath in Karachi.

According to police sources, a speeding car mounted the footpath and collided with an electric pole, killing the two occupants of the car and injuring two others at Shahrah-e-Faisal.

The dead bodies were identified as those of Muhammad Farhan and Muhammad Talha.

The crash left the car completely destroyed making it difficult for rescuers to pull the victims out.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the high-speed vehicle mounted on the footpath with such a destructive speed that its seats and CNG cylinder fell out on impact and spilled onto the road.
