- 32 cases against 48 officers sent to NAB, NA body told
The Ministry of Housing and Works Monday revealed that 32 cases of embezzlements against 48 officers from the Public Works Department (PWD) have been sent to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The ministry officials told this to the National Assembly Committee on Housing and Works, which met here at the Parliament House under chairmanship of Akram Ansari.
The committee was told that about 32 cases of embezzlement, fraud, financial irregularities and violation of PPRA Rules and Pak. PWD Code. They have been sent to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) through M/o H&W against 48 Officers/Officials of Pak. PWD so that they can initiate inquiries that are under process. Likewise, 48 cases of the same nature against 52 Officers are being investigated by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing and Works (H&W) expressed its displeasure over the delay in the completion of Reports of Inquiries/Criminal Cases against Officers/Officials of Pak. Public Works Department (Pak. PWD). They furthermore directed the Ministry of Housing and Works to expedite the matter and furnish the progress report in this respect in the next meeting.
The committee also took a briefing over the status of PHA Foundation’s and Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation’s (FGEHF) Housing Projects/Schemes.
