An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday issued arrest warrants of City Chief Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Muhammad Amin Wains for not complying with court orders.
The court ordered DIG operations to ensure presence of the CCPO Lahore on January 28 in court.
The ATC-III passed the orders after the CCPO failed to produce the witnesses in Maulana Shamsur Rehman Muavia and Dr Sagheer Baloch murder cases despite directions of the court.
As per details, the court had summoned witnesses, but they did not appear in said cases. Later, the court directed the police to assure the presence of the witnesses.
However, the police officials neither complied with the court orders nor submitted a reply in this regard.
At this, the court directed the CCPO to look into the matter and produce the witnesses. On last hearing, the court ordered to confiscate the CCPO’s salary on failure to comply with court orders and gave an opportunity to produce the witnesses today.
