- Shireen Mazari says PTI ready to take up debate challenge
Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid has accepted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s offer for a debate on the issues of election rigging and the formation of a judicial commission.
“The government is ready for the debate whenever and wherever the PTI wants,” the information minister said while talking to reporters after a conference held under the auspices of the Pakistan Ulema Council on Monday.
He welcomed the offer of dialogue extended by PTI leader Asad Umar, and asked PTI to nominate a panel of its leaders and assured that the PML-N would also nominate an equal number of people for its own panel for the debate, which would be telecast live.
He said he was ready to cooperate with the PTI information secretary to make all the arrangements.
Rashid said that it should be left to the people to decide whether the judicial commission the government proposes to form would redress the complaints of the PTI or the commission that PTI wants is necessary.
PTI ACCEPTS OFFER:
Meanwhile, PTI Information Secretary Dr Shireen Mazari said that her party’s team is ready for the debate with government team at any time.
Commenting on Rashid’s statement, Mazari said that the government’s negotiation team looks powerless and it disappears under the guise of consultation with the main leadership.
She also said that Rashid has no authority from his leaders, whereas Imran Khan has given full authority to the PTI negotiating team.
