PM leaves for Saudia to attend King Abdullah’s funeral

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif  left for Riyadh on Friday to attend the funeral of  late Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, private media reported.

The late king’s funeral prayers are to be offered in Riyadh after Asr prayers at the Prince Turki Bin Abdul Aziz mosque.

The PM and President Mamnoon Hussain have condoled the death of Saudi King.

The PM said that being the custodian of the Holy Mosques he had a special place in the heart of every Pakistani.

A one-day mourning has also been announced in Pakistan over the Saudi King’s demise.

Following Abdullah’s funeral, Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz will officially takeover as Saudi King.

The late monarch’s half-brother Moqren has been named as Crown Prince, according to the official statement released by the royal court.
