Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman Thursday blamed the Establishment for arming and training madrassa students.

While addressing the participants of a seminar regarding the 21st Amendment in the Constitution, Rehman said it was the Establishment which had taught seminary students how to operate rocket launchers and Kalashnikovs. “Everybody knows that Establishment had been using madrassas as jihadi factories for a long time,” the JUI-F chief said.

Moreover, Rehman said that the Establishment and other parties were targeting the madrassas in the name of eradicating terrorism. He said that all the terrorists hanged and arrested were not from any madrassa.

“The religious class is joining hands with all the parties but they are only focusing on madrassas without any evidence,” he said, adding that he opposed any law designed on the basis of discrimination.
