Furnace oil supply to Muzaffargarh Thermal power plant has been stopped resulting in closure of four units.
According to reports, the PSO has stopped the supply of oil as it has exhausted its stock. The non-availability of oil has forced the management to close four power generation units causing shortage of 1000MW of electricity. The power station is now running two units generating 310MW of electricity. The management however said that they had only two days of oil stock to run the two units. The PSO supplies 5,000 tons of furnace oil to Muzaffargarh power plant on daily basis but it has now run out of the stock.
