KARACHI-

Former Sindh chief minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Thursday took the political circles and media by surprise by claiming that the patron-in-chief of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will soon be joining Pakistan Muslim League, private media reported.

Speaking to media outside the Sindh Assembly, he said the prediction of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) leader Pir Pagara would soon come true when Bilawal would leave his dynastic party to join PML.

Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon strongly slammed Rahim’s statement saying that he was not that big of a prognosticator to make such predictions and should stick with making political statement.

Memon also asked Rahim to declare his own political credentials.

“Weather patterns don’t change as frequently as Arbab Ghulam switches political parties,” he said.

The former CM’s statement follows reports of a rift between Bilawal and PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari.

The rumours surfaced soon after Bilawal’s absence from the party’s foundation day event on November 30th.

Bilawal had a falling-out with PPP’s central leaders reportedly regarding the party’s stance on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement, specially after Zardari had advised Bilawal to keep away from politics following MQM’s reaction to warning to the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain.

The PPP patron-in-chief also appeared to be at odds with the party’s support to the 21st constitutional amendment for setting up military courts in a tweet:
