A medical board, created to examine Pervez Musharraf, had to return without any medical testing because the former president never showed up for his examination.

According to details, the medical board held a meeting at a local hospital in Karachi on Wednesday for this purpose; however, Musharraf never came to the hospital.

The Balochistan court had earlier ordered the creation of a medical board to examine Musharraf’s health condition after he failed to appear before the court during the Nawab Akbar Bugti murder case.

The medical team consisted of seven medical officials, including surgeons and physicians. The board was supposed to determine whether Musharraf was actually facing health issues and hence could not attend the hearings.

The formation of the medical board had earlier been hampered because of altercations that took place between the Sindh and Balochistan federating units.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Quetta indicted Musharraf, along with former interior minister Aftab Ahmed Sherpao and former Balochistan home minister Shoaib Nausherwani, in the case.

Nawab Akbar Bugti, along with around 35 of his comrades, was assassinated during a military operation near Dera Bugti and Kohlu on August 26, 2006. The operation was allegedly ordered by former president Musharraf.
