LHC benches decline appeals of various miscreants

The Lahore High Court (LHC) Multan Bench has rejected the appeal of Mushtaq Ahmad, a murderer of 3 police constables, and upheld the decision of Multan Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) which had awarded the accused 4 times death sentence and 600,000 compensation for the heirs of martyred police constables in November 2011.

The accused was arrested from Jahanian, Khanewal district, right after he murdered 3 on duty police constables by firing on April 24, 2008. According to the Prosecution Department spokesperson, the same bench comprising of Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin and Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq rejected another appeal of accused Muhammad Farooq who murdered Qasim, an accused on Judicial Remand in DG Khan Session Court on February 2013. The bench has upheld the orders of DG Khan ATC of 2 times death sentence and a fine of 200,000. District Prosecutor Generals Malik Riaz, Muhammad Jafar and Abdul Wadood represented the state in the case.

LHC Rawalpindi Bench comprising Justice Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah and Justice Zulqarnain Saleem has rejected the appeal of Khalid Saifullah, an accused terrorist of a banned outfit who was arrested from Ayub Park Rawalpindi in 2008 and a suicide jacket was recovered from him. The court has upheld the decision of Rawalpindi ATC which had sentenced the accused for life imprisonment in 2011. District Prosecutor General Muhammad Usman represented the state in the case.
