Five dead bodies found, 15 arrested in city

At least five dead bodies including two women were found in different parts of the city on Thursday.

According to police sources, in a mysterious set of circumstances, two female passengers were found dead at the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) administered hotel at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

Police said the women had reached on Wednesday with their families from Jeddah to Karachi and one woman was to travel to Lahore while the other to Peshawar.

Sources said the women had suddenly turned ill since last night and that they had consumed a poisonous substance. Authorities have confirmed the deaths and according to a spokesperson investigations are being carried out.

In other events, police recovered as many as three unidentified bodies from the areas of Landhi, Pak Colony and Lyari on the wee hours of Thursday. The three recovered bodies were shifted to the nearest hospital for identification process.

Meanwhile, Rangers  conducted a raid in Bawan Shah, area of Malir and arrested at least seven suspects involved in serious criminal activities.

According to the Rangers spokesman, drugs and huge cache of weapons had been confiscated from the possession of the suspects. Further, Rangers on a tip off also conducted a raid in Pehlwan Goth arresting as many as eight suspects who were transferred to unknown location for investigation. Moreover, police have sealed all the entry and exit points of the area and started search operation.

Sources reported that more than 200 Ranger’s officials took part in the search operation.
