Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani on Wednesday accepted resignations of four provincial assembly members from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), private media reported.
The resignations by PTI members; Samar Ali Khan, Dr Seema Zia, Hafeezuddin and Khurram Sher Zaman, have now been sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan for further necessary formalities.
In September 2014, PTI’s elected representatives resigned from the National Assembly and three provincial assemblies during anti-government protest by their party.
The Sindh Assembly has become the first legislative body to accept the resignations from the elected PTI members.
While we should never give up our principles, we must also realize that we cannot maintain our principles unless we survive.
