AG Suleman Butt told the court that the Foreign Ministry has sent a letter to the Afghan authorities for bringing back Rooh Ullah from Afghanistan and it is hoped steps will soon be taken for his return.

The AG told the court it has not been made sure so far where Rooah Ullah is hiding in Afghanistan. However, law enforcement agencies and security agencies are all set there to trace him out. It is hoped that the accused will be traced out. Previously, he was traced out but he fled from the site for want of timely action. The efforts are underway again to apprehend the accused and bring him back to Pakistan.

The CJP remarked, “Every time assurance is given by the government to the court about bringing back accused Rooh Ullah from Afghanistan but this assurance has not been delivered so far. Has it been identified where the accused is hiding in Afghanistan?”

It may be recalled the accused Rooh Ullah had killed former AG Sardar Khan near Khanpur Dam and he was serving jail term in Adiala Jail in this regard. He was shifted to Benazir Hospital Rawalpindi on the pretext of ailment and he then fled to Afghanistan under a plot. The government is in constant contact with Afghan government for his return to Pakistan but he has not been arrested so far.
