IGP appreciates OPF girls college’s security arrangements

Visiting OPF Girls College, F-8/2, Islamabad Police Inspector General (IG) Tahir Alam Khan Tuesday appreciated the security arrangements made by OPF Girls College and efforts of the principal and management to show a great concern for the safety and security of their students.

In pursuance of awareness campaign on the current security situation, Khan and Capt Amir visited OPF Girls College to inspect the security arrangement of the college.

A briefing on security arrangements was also arranged for the students and teachers in college auditorium to bring awareness among the children on the current security concerns.

Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Managing Director Habibur Rehman Khan, OPF Deputy Managing Director Israr Khan Jamali and Director General Education Shahzad Iqbal also attended the session.

The IG advised the students to sharpen their reflexes and remain on high alert and report about any unusual activity or person, unattended object or vehicle to the police. The IG also highlighted the security issues and told the children that how to be prepared to secure themselves.

He described the personality of the suicide bomber and made the children aware of the security risks in their surroundings. The police officials assured their help by providing patrol service and deploying armed policemen in the areas of the schools of Islamabad.

Talking on this occasion, Khan said that every effort would be made to make fool proof arrangements for the safety of students of all OPF educational institutions. He further said that necessary security equipments and gadgets would be provided very soon as per the standard operating procedures of Islamabad Police and other security agencies for the safety and security of the students. He assured the parents of the students that their children studying in OPF educational institutions are in safe hands.

Earlier, one minute silence was observed by the IG, college management, teachers and students to show solidarity with the victims and students of the APS Peshawar.
