Establishment secy summoned in employees’ regularisation case

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has summoned Establishment Division secretary for Friday in case pertaining to regularisation of federal government employees on contractual basis.

A single IHC bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah took up the case of promotion of government employees of different departments for hearing Tuesday.

The petitioners’ counsels appeared in court and took plea that the federal government was not regularising contractual employees. They said that the employees of different departments have come to the court to raise their voice against the attitude of federal secretaries in connection with their jobs.

“It seems government does not care for its employees nor it provides forum to them,” Justice Athar Minallah remarked.

“Such problems are being created due to poor performance of government. Therefore, it is better that court should summon Establishment Division secretary in person and seek clarification from him. There are such cases of service tribunal which should be registered in federal service tribunal instead of court. The rules and regulations of the government departments which have been enacted should be implemented. A commission should be constituted in respect of other such cases which pertain to CSD or other matters so that these problems could be sorted out.”

The hearing of the case was adjourned till Friday.
