A suspected suicide bomber was intercepted by police on Tuesday, foiling a major terror attempt near Rawalpindi, private media reported.
According to reports, police personnel intercepted a bus en-route to Rawalpindi from Peshawar at the Sadar Checkpost in Wah Garden.
One of the bus passengers was detained by the police on suspicion, who tried to escape.
Upon being fired at by the police, the suspect hurled a hand-held grenade at the police, injuring a policeman.
Reports added that the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has summoned a report of the incident.
