A partial strike was observed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on the appeal of Pakistan Bar Council in protest against the blasphemous cartoons published by French magazine Charlie Hebdo.
However, the proceedings of important cases continued in courtrooms of Chief justice Mohammad Anwar Khan Kasi and other benches.
The lawyers’ community, expressing their views over the blasphemous caricatures said that the government should end all diplomatic ties with France and deport its envoy from the country.
They said that no Muslim can tolerate the disrespect of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and demanded the government to raise its protest against France at the international level.
