The negotiators from the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) agreed to continue negotiations in order to resolve the stalemate as the two parties are still at variance over three points.

However, the two sides agreed in principle that it would be hazardous to let the matters hang in balance; hence they will continue discussions until the issue is resolved.

Earlier, Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar held negotiations with PTI’s Jahangir Tareen at the latter’s residence. PTI leader Asad Umar was also present in the meeting.

Talking to reporters late on Monday, Tareen said that Dar had elaborately responded to his letter, adding the two parties will again sit together after a couple of days.

Underscoring the need to form the judicial commission to probe electoral rigging in previous general polls, the PTI leader asserted the two parties should once and for all decide the formation of the commission.

Tareen reiterated May 2013 vote should be audited.

Speaking on the occasion, Dar remarked there are no major differences between the two sides, adding Jahangir Tareen has been apprised of the government’s stance with detailed discussion with him.
