ISLAMABAD-

A two member committee, tasked to investigate into the matter of fuel crisis, held Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) responsible for ongoing  situation of fuel shortage in the country, private media reported.

The committee presented its initial report to Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf in a  meeting chaired by him to review the current petroleum situation in the country.

PM was told that the fuel shortage was a serious failure on part of OGRA as a regulator.

Sharif also directed the concerned ministries to make structural changes to prevent the same situation from happening in future.

The suspension of four senior officials responsible for the crisis was also endorsed during the meeting.

Meanwhile, Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that he was never satisfied with the performance of OGRA and the authority’s performance as a regulator was not just dismal for petrol but was also same for gas.

Furthermore, the  orders of the suspension of PSO Finance Deputy Managing Director Sohail Butt were also given for being responsible for the shortage of fuel.
